Alkiralea is a small cattle farm that focuses on breeding quality Herefords.

We have always owned working dogs including Border Collies and Kelpies. In 2018, after choosing a particularly rambunctious Kelpie puppy to join the family, Meg turned her attention to learning all she could about early puppy training and socialisation. This interest has now extended itself to fostering over 100 dogs, including many working dog breeds for various rescue organisations.

We fell in love with the Aussie Shepherd after a chance encounter at obedience school. We were drawn to their dedication to their owner, smaller size and whip sharp intelligence.

Having seen firsthand the heartbreaking consequences of backyard breeding, Meg is determined to ensure all Alkiralea puppies get the best start to life that all dogs deserve. Alkiralea dogs are health tested, appropriately socialised and start training before they leave for their new homes.

When you buy an Alkiralea dog, it is the start of a lifelong relationship with us. We take pride in ensuring we provide support at every stage of your ownership.

The first 16 weeks of a puppy's life is integral in ensuring they become calm, happy and well socialised adult dogs. Our dogs are raised on a 100 acre property and are exposed to stimuli normally found in a busy household.

We are committed to providing ongoing support to new owners, especially in the early stages of settling into their new homes.

Where are you located?

Alkiralea is located on the Mid North Coast of NSW. We are a small cattle farm nestled alongside the mighty Macleay River. Our puppies can be transported all over Australia.

Are you a registered breeder?

How do we know that you are not a puppy farmer or a scammer?

Alkiralea is a small family based Australian Shepherd and Hereford cattle breeder. We only have one breeding dam and would be considered a 'micro breeder'. Our dogs are first and foremost pets who enjoy daily runs on our acreage, river swims, obedience training and camping. We work hard to ensure we are meeting the standards set by DogsNSW and the DPI.
